Is this email a scam?

Check it before you click, pay or reply.

Paste a suspicious email or drop the email file. Metis checks who really sent it, where its links go, its attachments and any request for money, then tells you plainly what it found.

The email to check

Most thorough: in Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail use Show original or Download message, then paste or drop that. It includes the proof of who really sent it.

What Metis checks

The senderWhether the sender's own mail servers really sent it, look-alike addresses like paypa1.com, and names that show a different address.
The linksLinks that say one website but go to another, shortened or hidden links, and links to bare internet addresses.
AttachmentsFile types often used to install malware or show fake sign-in pages.
Requests for moneyChanged bank details, wire requests, gift cards, crypto, replies that go elsewhere, and pressure to act now.
The claimsAthena, Metis's AI, reads what the email claims and flags what doesn't hold up, like a familiar invoice at a new amount.
Plain adviceWhat to do next, and the rule that stops most fraud: confirm by phone, on a number you already have.

Privacy

Metis doesn't keep the emails you check. They're used for the check and then discarded; we keep only the verdict, not who you are. Automated checks can be wrong: when in doubt, contact the sender another way.

Government and military staff: don't paste or forward classified or controlled (CUI) information; use your official reporting channels.

Also free from Metis: Metis Privacy, a step-by-step plan to get your details off people-search sites. Up to 30 checks a day.
